Bold opening: Get Briefed isn’t just a stopgap—it sets the pace for what comes next, turning a quiet intermission into a doorway to new abilities and bigger targets. And this is the part most players miss: it’s also a strategic checkpoint that shapes your late-game options. Now, here’s a fully rewritten, beginner-friendly version that preserves every key detail from the original while adding clarity and context.
Overview
- Get Briefed is the sixth main mission in High on Life 2. It recurs multiple times as you progress, acting as a natural intermission to prepare you for upcoming objectives.
- The first appearance occurs after you explore Circuit Arcadia and learn that Jorb has opened a shop at Quarters. Use this rewritten guide to unlock double jumping, choose your first bounty, and navigate later appearances of the mission.
What to do after exploring Circuit Arcadia
- Look for Jorb’s shop in Quarters: after finishing the Explore Circuit Arcadia objective, head back to Quarters. Exit the RV hallway, go down one floor, and you’ll find Jorb’s shop—the same area that houses the arcade machines and Knifey.
- Focus upgrade: for Get Briefed, purchase the Double Jump upgrade, which sits to the left of Jorb. It costs 100 pesos, so you should have enough funded by now.
- Optional upgrades and money: if you want more power-ups, advance the story to earn pesos and hunt Lugloxes. Lugloxes are cube- and chest-like creatures scattered around High on Life 2 that yield rewards when opened. Your radar helps locate them; when you’re near one, a green indicator appears on the radar.
Talk to Lizzie before leaving Quarters
- After you finish shopping, go to the top level of Quarters and chat with Lizzie near Gene on the couch. She explains the mission’s broader goal: dismantle Rhea Pharmaceuticals by targeting key players affiliated with the company. Even though you’re still an outlaw, your job has shifted back to taking down important targets.
- First targets: Larry Pinkstock and Senator Muppy Doo. Gatlian Harper notes you can pursue them in any order. For this guide, we started with billionaire Larry Pinkstock. After speaking with Lizzie, you’re free to wander and engage with other characters for optional dialogue.
What’s on the screen and what to watch
- If you’re tracking in-game media, the latest real movie shown on Gene’s TV will appear during this segment. The newest title is the 1986 horror film Spookies, following the previous pick Manborg.
- In addition to conversation, you can check in with everyone around Quarters and look at the TV for entertainment clips or short, humorous shows crafted for High on Life 2.
Preparing to depart Quarters
- When you’re ready to continue the main story, head to the RV and use the dashboard terminal, YomYom. You must accept the Terms of Service to proceed with bounty tracking; declining blocks progression.
- After accepting, you’ll see both Larry Pinkstock and Muppy Doo as bounty options. Selecting either reveals more details, and choosing one will unlock the third YomYom tab.
- Navigation and vehicle sounds: the NAV area lets you fast-travel to unlocked call stations. The Horn tab lets you pick the RV’s horn sound; Gene explains that the horn you choose will play when he arrives to pick you up.
- When you’re ready, return to NAV and select City Plaza in downtown. This advances you to one of two missions: Kill Billionaire Larry Pinkstock or Kill Senator Muppy Doo.
